We booked Chef Kimo to cater for our wedding in Ka'a'awa, Oahu in July, 2014.

During the planning stages he met with us in person and also corresponded by e-mail and FaceTime. His friendly nature put us at ease and we were pleased to work with him because of his extensive knowledge of the island and of organising weddings there.

Kimo worked within our budget and did his best to achieve everything we were looking for on our special day. He is not only a caterer but can also organise everything wedding related. He custom made the menu to our specifications, recommended an amazing cake maker and organised table decorations which fitted perfectly with our colour scheme.

Although there were a few minor problems due to some of his staff letting him down at the last minute, Kimo was still able to produce a tasty and varied wedding meal for us which all our guests thoroughly enjoyed.

We highly recommend him and his company.

Rochelle Gregson Event and Birthday Party

Chef Kimo (Loren Holly) exceeded all of my expectations! Chef's timing was perfect; guests raved about the food and the combination of flavors and texture. The food was served hot and some of my guests were pleased to be able to watch Chef Kimo in action!The dinner for 50 was at my home in Kaneohe. Service was for 6:30 pm. Chef Kimo worked with me on the menu and at exactly 6:30, dinner was served. Food service was buffet style and Chef Kimo made sure that the food kept coming!  Chef Kimo cooked and cleaned and at the end of the evening, the kitchen was immaculate.After the party ended and as guests prepared to leave, Chef Kimo and the crew broke down the tables and chairs and before leaving for the evening, made sure that everything was cleaned and taken away.  Everyone raved about the food and the service! As the host, I was most grateful for the privilege of working with Chef Kimo. Using Kimo's Akamai Catering for this special event was the best decision I made!

We were introduced to Chef Kimo three months before our wedding date; we hadn’t planned to have a caterer but figured it wouldn’t hurt to see what he had... to say. Little did we know, it was to be the beginning of a wonderful adventure, a treasured friendship and an amazing wedding.
It doesn’t matter whether you are on a tight budget or are looking to have the wedding of the century, we can unconditionally recommend Chef Kimo and know that he will prove to be an invaluable member of your celebration.
When you hire Chef Kimo, you are getting much more than a caterer. He is very skilled at almost everything wedding related, and if there is something that for some reason he can’t, or doesn’t have time to do, then it is guaranteed he knows someone who will not only exceed expectations, but do it for a great price as well. In addition to doing an incredible job at catering, Chef Kimo also stepped up as a full on wedding planner/coordinator, personnel manager, florist, decorator, equipment organizer, confidant and life saver.
We had originally planned to organize all of our wedding ourselves, in order to save money, but things were soon piling up and overwhelming us.  We contacted Chef Kimo to see if he would be able to help us out with the budget we had to work with. We soon found out that not only could he provide a wonderful menu, but also help us save money with our equipment rental, flowers and staffing.  He spent huge amounts of time working closely with us leading up to the wedding, making sure everything was exactly as we wanted, answering any questions or concerns and showing us ways we could save money. We were so impressed by his attention to detail, fresh ideas, designer’s eye, “can do” attitude and loving nature. He genuinely made us feel that our wedding was as important to him as it was to us.
On the day we continued to be impressed by the way everything was pulled together. The food was delicious and beautifully presented (everyone commented on how tasty it was). The flowers and decorations were stunning and exactly what we had imagined. The staff was wonderful, friendly, well presented and a joy to have around. Chef and his staff arrived early and stayed with us all day and night making sure that everything was both set up and stripped down properly. We didn’t have to lift a finger. Having Chef Kimo around was a huge blessing for us. It was so good to have a single point of reference for us and for everyone else, and to be confident that Chef would make decisions in our best interest.
We can’t express enough how thankful we are for Chef Kimo. He took the wedding we could afford and turned it into the wedding we thought we could only dream about. We absolutely recommend that you take the time to talk to him because we know that whatever function you may be holding, he will go above and beyond to make it exactly what you desire. His skills as a chef and caterer are of the highest standard and, having worked in event management, his abilities as an event coordinator are the best we have had the pleasure of working with. We met him because we were looking for someone to help with catering and ended up with an amazing wedding and a wonderful friend.

Sometimes in life people, conditions,
and exhaustive planning come together flawlessly to make for a wonderful
occasion. That was true of my daughter’s wedding in Hawaii on
March 16, 2010. The ceremony and reception took place at the spectacular
Loulu Palm Estate, a private beach on Oahu’s north shore. The little
rai...n we experienced held off until after the wedding service and picture
taking, when we were all assembled under the protection of the reception
tent. The ambience and the evening’s music were perfect.
And the buffet dinner prepared by Chef Kimo was an extraordinary culinary
experience. The steak was cooked to perfection and the grilled
salmon was the best I ever tasted. The primary dishes were complimented
by kahuku prawns scampi, a rice pilaf, garlic mashed potatoes, a medley
of vegetables, a caesar salad, and a triple layer mousse cake.
My wife and I were congratulated throughout the evening by the wedding
guests who were astounded by the quality of the food. However,
our accomplishment that evening was simply to have had the good fortune
of finding a truly great chef.
Chef Kimo also proved to be
invaluable in the weeks and months prior to the wedding. He helped
my wife with the countless little details that needed attention, making
her job that much easier. We will always be grateful to Chef Kimo
and the staff at Kimo’s Akamai Catering for helping make our daughter’s
wedding a colossal success.

Wedding Event:

Well we just finish another Wedding Function At Lanikuhonua over by Koolina and it was a success. That Location is a beautiful view of sunsets and the environment just adds to the event. Thanks Uncle Bobo and Aunty Netti For all your help. Also mahalo to Carrie the Wedding Coordinator that brought us in to do the catering. The Groom and the bride were MJ and Joel from New York State and they were a cute matching couple.
